Notes
  1. For the purposes of this measure, disability status is based on a version of the ABS Short Disability Module (which identifies those with functional impairments), regardless of self-identified disability status. All survey respondents were asked about their access to mainstream support services, to enable comparison of those with and without disability.
  2. This measure is based on the question, ‘Thinking about general health, income support or other general support services, do you agree or disagree that you can access them when you need them?’. Survey participants were given the following guidance: ‘General services are services for the entire population and can include things like health and mental health, early childhood development, income support, and transport etc.’.

Respondents who answered ‘Strongly agree’ or ‘Somewhat agree’ are regarded as having agreed. Respondents who answered ‘Strongly disagree’ or ‘Somewhat disagree’ are regarded as having disagreed. People who skipped the question or responded ‘Not sure’ or ‘Prefer not to answer’ are excluded from the measure calculation.
