Conclusion

This report demonstrates that the development of the COVID‑19 Register is progressing well and will allow patient-centric and patient pathway analysis that will increase our understanding of the pandemic.

The analysis in this report provides examples of how linked data on COVID‑19 cases could be analysed to investigate demographic patterns, health outcomes following a diagnosis and patterns of health service usage and medications dispensed before and after COVID‑19. Future research projects will have to be methodologically precise to take into account confounding factors.

As the data is updated in the second half of 2023, additional analyses will be performed, research questions investigated, and results iteratively released.
