Has the proportion of people with disability who completed Year 10 changed over time?
The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent). Data from 2012 to 2022 are used. In 2022, 90% of people with disability had completed Year 10, compared with 79% in 2012. The baseline used to track change over time was 86% in 2018.

Does the proportion of people with disability who completed Year 10 vary between states and territories?
The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent), grouped by Australian states and territories. In 2022, 92% of people with disability in Western Australia and 89% in South Australia had completed Year 10 (please note that some jurisdictions were not published due to small sample numbers and to protect confidentiality).

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent), by Indigenous status. In 2022, 79% of First Nations people with disability and 91% for non-Indigenous Australians with disability had completed Year 10.

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent), by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) status. In 2022, 91% of people with disability from CALD backgrounds had completed Year 10 as did 90% among the non-CALD group.

The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent), by disability group. In 2022, 90% of people with physical restriction had completed Year 10, compared with 82% in the learning and understanding group.

Does the proportion of people with disability who completed Year 10 vary for Autistic and non-Autistic people?
The data in the graph and the table below show the proportion of people with disability (aged 20–64) who completed Year 10 (or equivalent), by whether they have autism. In 2022, 82% of Autistic people with disability had completed Year 10, compared with 90% of non-Autistic people with disability (proportion for Autistic people with disability has a high margin of error and should be used with caution).
Please note that, in this data source, not all Autistic people are considered to have disability. Autistic people who do not report significant limitations, impairments or restrictions are considered to not have disability; these people are not reported on in this graph and table.
