Notes
  1. The Strategy was set to see the following tracked – Proportion of employers who value the contribution and benefits of employing people with disability. Measure wording has been revised to clarify its intent. The revised measure reports the average rate of positive attitudes to employing people with disability, recognising that for each person the attitude is a continuum.
  2. The employer attitudes are based on 6 questions about employing people with disability. Valid responses could be positive, negative, or neutral. The questions were:
    • Employing people with disability improves a company's image (Positive responses: ‘Strongly agree’; ‘Agree’)
    • People with disability do not want to work, they do not look for a job (Positive responses: ‘Strongly disagree’; ‘Disagree’)
    • People with disability work less efficiently than people without any disability (Positive responses: ‘Strongly disagree’; ‘Disagree’)
    • It is easier for people with disability to do their job if they have the right support and equipment at work (Positive responses: ‘Strongly agree’; ‘Agree’)
    • Hiring people with disability benefits your workplace (Positive responses: ‘Strongly agree’; ‘Somewhat agree’)
    • People with disability would make a valuable contribution to your workplace (Positive responses: ‘Strongly agree’; ‘Somewhat agree’).

Skipped reponses, or responses of ‘Not sure’ or ‘Prefer not to answer’ are deemed non-valid.
Respondents who gave non-valid responses to more than 2 out of 6 questions were excluded from the calculation.
