Data for this dashboard are from the Australia Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Census of Population and Housing, and Estimated Resident Population, for 2021, 2016 and 2011.
The statistics presented are for the people, families and households counted on a single night (Census night). Data about people are based on where they usually live, unless specified, while data about families and households are based on where a person was counted on Census night.
The regional profile dashboard presents data for urban areas (based on Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSA)) and their contributing Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4) and Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3) regions. National and state and territory data are also presented.
