Perinatal dashboard
The perinatal dashboard allows you to view statistics about mothers and babies, the antenatal period, and labour and birth outcomes.
Step 1: Select a dashboard page from the buttons at the top (for example, overview, regional comparison, time trend).
Step 2: Select a topic to view statistics on (mothers, babies).
Step 3: Select filter options to change statistics presented (urban area, statistic).
Data for this dashboard are from the National Perinatal Data Collection for 2023.
The statistics presented are for women who gave birth and babies born, based on usual residence of the mother. The data are for births reported by midwives and birth attendants across Australia, using information from mothers and hospitals or other records.
The perinatal dashboard presents data for urban areas (based on Greater Capital City Statistical Areas (GCCSA)) with national and state and territory data are also presented.

The dashboard presents data on mother and babies across urban Australia, including the antenatal period and baby outcomes with regional, time trend and Indigenous status comparison.
