Urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Equity Dashboards

The following dashboards were update for the June 2026 update:

• Diabetes dashboard
• Mortality dashboard
• Hospitalisations dashboard

Emergency Department dashboard. The denominator for rates has been updated to align with the data sources reporting period, that is the calendar year and/or financial year. This denominator change affects crude rates and age-standardised rates at the Australia, state and territory levels across the mortality dashboard, and at the Greater Capital City Statistical Area (GCCSA), Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4) and Statistical Area Level 3 (SA3) region levels for the hospitalisations dashboard and emergency department dashboard.

In addition, national mortality rate calculations were also updated across the mortality dashboard. For 2019–2023, mortality rates (crude and age-standardised) are reported for the 5 jurisdictions where the quality of Indigenous status identification in deaths data is considered adequate: New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. National rates for this period therefore represent these 5 jurisdictions combined, with rates not reported for Victoria, Tasmania or the Australian Capital Territory due to data quality concerns.
