Primary carers (aged 15 and over) living in households.

Numerator

Number of primary carers living in households who have no unmet need for respite care. These are defined as primary carers who received respite care in the last 3 months and do not need or do not know if they need it further, and those who did not receive respite care in last 3 months, or have never received respite care, and do not need or do not know if they need it.

Denominator

Number of primary carers living in households.

Computation description

Number of primary carers living in households have no unmet need for respite care, divided by the number of primary carers living in households.

Expressed as a percentage.

100 × (Numerator ÷ Denominator)

  1. The Strategy would like to see the following tracked – Proportion of informal carers of people with disability who report that alternative care arrangements are available and affordable. Available data do not allow the exact measure listed by the Strategy to be tracked. Currently an alternative measure is reported.
