The Specialist homelessness services annual report summarises the characteristics of clients receiving support from specialist homelessness services throughout 2024–25, including the services requested, outcomes achieved, and unmet requests for services.

Key findings

  • Almost 289,000 clients were assisted by SHS agencies in 2024–25; around 1.8 million clients since 2011–12

  • More than two-fifths of SHS clients continued receiving support in 2024–25, having also received support in 2023–24

  • The need for short-term or emergency accommodation was unmet for around 1 in 3 (31%) SHS clients

  • People who experienced family and domestic violence were the largest SHS client group, making up 40% of all clients.
