Data updates

Australia’s mothers and babies is updated several times a year, in:

  • February 2026 – the ‘Stillbirths and neonatal deaths dashboard’ was released with the latest available data (2023) from the National Perinatal Mortality Data Collection (NPMDC).
  • November 2025 – the ‘Maternal deaths’ content was updated with the latest available data (2023) from the National Maternal Mortality Data Collection (NMMDC).
  • July 2025 – most of the report was updated with the latest available data (2023) from the National Perinatal Data Collection (NPDC) and the Maternity Models of Care Data Set (MoC DS), including preliminary perinatal deaths (stillbirths and neonatal deaths) data and two new sections on maternity models of care and country of birth.
