Population

People aged 18 and over with disability or a long-term health condition, who can complete a personal interview, and who experienced physical and/or sexual assault less than 10 years ago.

Numerator

Number of people aged 18 and over with disability or a long-term health condition, who experienced assault and sought advice or support after most recent incident.

Denominator

Number of people aged 18 and over with disability or a long-term health condition, who experienced physical and/or sexual assault less than 10 years ago.

Computation description

The number of people aged 18 and over with disability or a long-term health condition, who experienced assault less than 10 years ago and sought advice or support after most recent incident, divided by the number of people aged 18 and over with disability or a long-term health condition, who experienced assault less than 10 years ago.

Expressed as a percentage.

  1. Historical (2012) data for this measure is collected for incidences of assault which occurred less than 20 years ago.
  2. Disability status is collected as at the time of the survey. It does not indicate whether a person had disability at the time of an incident of violence.
  3. Analysis of data is based on the most recent incident of assault, regardless of the type of assault.
