Notes
  1. The Strategy would like to see the following tracked – Proportion of people with disability 15 years and above who have experienced violence compared with people without disability. Available data do not allow the exact measure listed by the Strategy to be tracked. The data source does not collect information from people aged 15–17, who are therefore not included in the results presented for this measure.
  2. To assess whether the rate of violence has changed over time, the data reference periods need to be mutually exclusive (that is, not span over the same years). Therefore, these webpages use different computation for this measure for summary/trend reporting, and for population groups reporting.
  3. Disability status is collected as at the time of the survey and may differ from the time that violence occurred.
  4. Violence includes physical assault, physical threat, sexual assault or sexual threat. Emotional or economic abuse is not included.
  5. Sexual assault includes any attempted sexual assaults, while physical assault excludes attempted physical assaults. Threats that did not occur face-to-face are not included.
