Measure 5.4: Improved primary health care system experiences and outcomes for people living with dementia

Primary care is often the first contact a person has with the health system and can be delivered in a range of settings, by a range of providers. This care can encompass health care, counselling and restorative services, and may be provided by general practitioners within general practice or in an aged care or community setting, or by public or private service providers.

There are no data currently available to track this measure of progress and data development is needed. There are broader efforts to improve primary care data; for example, one of the primary health care data development activities at the AIHW is a General practice data demonstration project on dementia.
