The purpose of the Disability Services National Minimum Data Set (DS NMDS) collection is to facilitate the annual collation of nationally comparable data about disability support services provided under the National Disability Agreement (NDA), and to obtain reliable, consistent data with minimal load on the disability services field. Under the NDA, the Disability Administrators in all Australian jurisdictions are responsible for ensuring 'that DS NMDS information will be comparable across all jurisdictions and years'.
