The National Perinatal Mortality Data Collection (NPMDC) collates information on stillbirths and neonatal deaths in Australia, including timing, causes, and investigations. Data are supplied to AIHW by state and territory health authorities on an annual basis. Data are collected by calendar year, based on the year in which the birth occurred.

Data scope All stillbirths and neonatal deaths occurring in the state or territory of at least 20 weeks gestation or at least 400 grams birthweight. Stillbirths include Fetus Papyraceous and Fetus Compressus if they meet the definition of the National Perinatal Data Collection. |
